Fantastic 5: Vegan Brain Foods


It’s a new day, you wake up refreshed (let’s hope) and you’re ready to tackle what’s ahead of you. You turn off your alarm, jump in the shower and before you know it a million and one thoughts are battling each other for pole position in your head and you can barely think straight. Our lives are hectic, yes. Can we do anything to ease the stress and strain on our overworking brain? Yes! We don’t want to have a hazy memory. We want to be able to think clearly and get things done to our full potential. We’ve got 5 fantastic brain foods for you to chew on to get you out of any foggy mess. Oh, and if you combine these 5 vegan foods with some regular meditation, exercise and you don’t forget to stay hydrated, you’ll be the sharpest tool in the shed.

So here we go…

1. I’m green, I’m smooth, I’m squidgy.

Yes, I’m Avocado!

Avocado’s of course are all the hype right now and they absolutely deserve to be. This superfood does wonders at supporting cognitive health thanks to it being packed full of potassium, fibre, vitamins C, K, folate and B6. The healthy fat in avocados stops blood vessels from hardening which means that we have sufficient supply of blood to our heart and brain.

2. We’re small, we’re red, we’re juicy.

These dainty red beauties are able to defend brain cells from injury and degeneration. They may even be able to reverse damage to the brain.

3.We’re light, we’re small, we’re from the brightest flower which stands so tall.

Yes, we’re Sunflower Seeds!

These magical seeds not only come from a beautiful plant, they contain nutrients which may lower the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and help combat depression. Each one of these seeds contain B vitamins, omega fatty acids, protein and tryptophan.

4. We’re minuscule, we’re delicate, we’re brown.

They’re a condensed source of omega 3 fatty acids which are amazing at supporting a healthy brain. 5. We’re small, we’re pale, we’re squishy.
